Match the weapon to your skills, complete a useful armor set and keep enough health for the next enemy round. Upgrade the pieces you intend to keep.
Equipment upgrade order
- 01
Fix the weakest slot
Replace a weapon your class cannot use or an armor piece that leaves you too fragile before polishing a good item.
- 02
Complete a useful set
Three matching armor pieces activate the full set effect. Compare the worn-set panel after every swap.
- 03
Hone the item you will keep
At the Blacksmith, read the next stat increase, material cost and success chance. Save higher-value stones for a meaningful upgrade.
Whetstones at the Blacksmith
Select the equipment first. The upgrade offer shows the stone, quantity, Gold cost and failure rule for that attempt. Keep enough Gold for the next run instead of spending the entire balance on a small improvement.

Iron Staff buffs
A Common Iron Staff example has +3 Defense and +7 Magic and is Mage-only. Compare the selected copy’s stats rather than the combined worn-gear total. The weapon guide includes the item example and forge recipes.
Dawnkeeper versus Thornstalker
For short farming runs, we favor completing an opening-damage set before chasing unrelated higher-rarity pieces. For long fights, prioritize recovery and survival. Compare the copies at the same upgrade level and keep their item Powers separate from full-set bonuses.
