Dragonborn is our pick for a durable fire-themed build. Scaled Hide adds health and cuts incoming damage, while Dragonfire sets up its protection against Burning enemies.
Dragonborn abilities

Best Dragonborn class and build
For a first character, choose Warrior → Sentinel → Aegis. Dragonborn’s extra HP supports the frontline role, and Survivor gives you a margin when a fight goes wrong. Add Second Breath and Renewal for recovery.
For an offensive Spear route, choose Dragoon → Dragonlord. The Ultra adds group damage, armor penetration and Dragon’s Blood. Start with the race you have; Dragonborn is a strong pairing, not a class-unlock requirement.

Dragonborn is in the Race Spin pool at 0.72%. Redeem the active codes before buying additional spins, and decide how many rolls you are willing to spend. Each roll is a fresh chance; a run of misses does not make the next roll certain.
Keep a useful Dwarf, Stonekin or Tideborn while progressing. Race rarity should not hold up your Super class, weapon or Oath upgrades.
Dragonborn Heirloom and Heartblood
Keep the race’s materials separate from your class materials. Sigil of Dragonlord and Tome of Dragonlord advance the Spear class route; they do not evolve Dragonborn.
For race evolution, open your Dragonborn progression panel and match the required item’s full race name before buying it at the Auction House. The older Heirloom route video was published before Dragonborn arrived, so its Stormcaller and Shatterback routes belong to the other races named in that table.
Our recommendation is to unlock your class skills first, then buy the matching race material when a listing fits your budget. Do not buy a Nightborne, Seraph or Tideborn material for a Dragonborn character.
